In this one-hour CLE, using an open discussion format, the three person panel will present views from the Agency, from a Custody Conciliatory Master and from a Family Law Practitioner to discuss the problems and potential solutions in the interplay between Dependency Court and Custody Court. Topics to be covered include: what the Agency can (and can not) disclose to the Custody Court under the confidentiality provisions of the Child Protective Services Law, the information sharing form that is used in both Lehigh and Northampton Counties relative to those disclosures under the Custody Act at 23 Pa.C.S.A. 5329.1, how those who may have custody standing are often not able to fully participate in the dependency arena due to conflicts with dependency confidentiality issues and practical navigation of custody issues when the family is proceeding simultaneously through dependency and/or receiving family services.
